CARBON FOOT PRINT
In our day to day routines we produce carbon dioxide which is harmful to the environment. The amount we produce is known as our carbon footprint. To calculate your carbon footprint go to the carbon trust website on the links page.
The average household produces approximately 6 tonnes of carbon dioxide from home and appliance usage and 4 tonnes from travel per year. One household produces sufficient greenhouse gas to fill 10 hot air balloons.
Not everyone is able to recycle or use green transport options such as cycling or public transport. An alternative way of reducing our carbon footprint is by purchasing a carbon off set.
CARBON OFF SET
Carbon off setting allows individuals to compensate for their unavoidable emissions by helping fund projects that deliver an equivalent CO2 saving elsewhere.
Carbon off setting can be achieved for a relatively small outlay with maximum impact on the environment. Government approved off set providers include, British Airways, Carbon Footprint Limited, Carbon Passport, Clear and Pure the Clean Planet Trust.
Guests can also get involved either by purchasing carbon off sets instead of gifts or by purchasing alternative gift options such as ethical and eco friendly home wares and gifts.
